Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) skills training and capacity building programmes focusing on raising awareness and advocating on the impact and long term effects the misuse of alcohol and substance abuse have on children, families and within communities.In 2009 EYS was awarded the ABSA Sowetan ECD Award in the category “Best Innovative Project in ECD for the Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and is funded by the Department of Social Development.EYS is a member of the National ECD Alliance (NECDA) and serves on the Western Cape FASD Task Team.
The ECD Resource centres
The ECD Resource centres and Toy Library services non-centre based programmes providing resources for children who are unable to access formal ECD services. The five libraries are located on the West Coast of and funded by the Department of Basic Education.
EYS is a member of the National ECD Alliance (NECDA and serves on the Western Cape FASD Task Team.
